The Thetford S220CS Separation Toilet offers a waterless alternative to traditional cassette toilets for caravans and motorhomes. It works by separating liquid and solid waste at the source, allowing you to manage waste disposal without relying on fixed service points. The S220CS is built as a complete toilet unit based on the familiar C220 cassette toilet design, with a 7.5-litre urine tank and 7-litre solid waste bucket, both made from recycled plastic. Weighing 7.2kg with a seat height of 492mm, it’s designed as a direct replacement for existing C220 models.
Separation toilets eliminate the need for water and chemicals, letting you stay off-grid for longer periods. The urine tank empties into standard toilets while solid waste goes in bags for household disposal (where local regulations permit). This means fewer trips to dedicated waste disposal stations and greater freedom when choosing where to park. The waterless operation also reduces your fresh water consumption and running costs.
The S220CS features a blade mechanism that visually covers waste, keeping the bowl clean and hygienic between uses. The ergonomically optimised bowl works for both men and women, with a leak-free connection between the toilet and urine tank to prevent spills during transport. A mechanical level indicator on the urine tank tells you when it needs emptying. You’ll find installation straightforward with the complete bowl design, and there’s an optional ventilator kit available for enhanced odour control. The unit measures 534 x 394 x 580mm and fits through Door 3 access panels.
