As this is a full caravan awning it goes in the awning rail all the way around your van. This ensures you don;t have any issues with obstructions or windows as you go around the very edge of your caravan. It also means that you instantly get twice as much space as it is the full length of your van and 250 cm deep. As it goes in the rail all the way around it also means that it is more secure and weathertight than porch awnings as it is held tight against the van at all times, with no chance of wind or rain getting in from the sides.
The strength of this awning, the frame and the durability of the fabric's means that whilst this is a touring awning, it also classifies as an any season awning, or an all season awning.
IMPORTANT NOTE : Whilst this is a full caravan awning and made to fit caravans between 946 and 980 cm, due to the nature of the roll out awning it also requires a minimum straight length of rail in order to allow the bag to sit correctly on the side of your caravan. For this size awning it needs to be 510 cm in length.
The Luna features the European made TenCate fabric on the roof giving it extended lifespan, exceptional durability and complete waterproof protection. The material is also thinner and lighter than it's rivals making it ideal when rolling the roof away. It also features the luxurious HyroTech Cotton Touch fabric on the walls giving amazing performance for year to come. The frame on this awning is made from aircraft grade aluminium for maximum strength and minimum weight, ensuring it is weather proof and as light as possible. The legs are also all adjustable which helps with uneven ground, making it easier to pitch when the ground isn't level.
The addition of the full ventilation panels, plus tinted windows means that even when the weather is hot, it will be cooler inside the awning than outside. HyroTech Cotton Touch Fabric
This is an all weather, premium fabric that will last for years. The high performance coating on the fabric gives it an extremely high weatherproof rating and helps protect it and you from the harmful U.V. rays. The fabric also has that luxury cotton touch on the outer, making it feel as good as it looks. At it's core this is a 300D premium polyester fabric with an extremely high tensile strength, so high that it does not need to be rip stop. The fabric is made to highest standard available which gives it the highest possible tensile strength making it extremely touch and durable. The thread is dyed before the fabric is sewn into sheets making it is the same colour throughout, so it will not fade. The fabric is also anti-condensation, which means when condensation builds up inside your awning the fabric allows that moisture to soak into the fabric, rather than beading and then dripping down. The moisture in the fabric then dries out naturally during the day.
This fabric is extremely durable and hard wearing, so will last for years and years. The fabric is so strong and durable, combined with the advanced coating means that it can be used on all season awnings without any degrading of the fabric or drop in performance or lifespan.
Any Season Awning
This is a touring awning, but thanks to the premium fabric, build quality and structure it is an any season awning. This means it can be used at any time of the year. The fabric on this awning is a premium fabric which can withstand the sun, heat, cold, rain, snow or whatever weather is thrown at it. It can be used in the heat of the south of France, the cold of northern Denmark, the wind of the Cairngorms or the rain of Snowdonia and it will perform as well in all places.
Touring Awning
There are three main classes of awnings. Touring awnings, all season awnings and permanent pitch awnings. The difference between them is the way that they can be used. The vast majority of awnings (like this one) are touring awnings. This means that they are used whilst touring, so they are pitched, used, taken down and used again. They would be pitched for one to two weeks at a time, or approximately size to seven times a year. Touring awnings can be used for longer periods, or more often but this can affect the longevity / lifespan of them.
All Season Awning
Whilst this is a touring awning, the solid structure, premium fabric, extra pegging points and build quality means that it can be used for extended periods. A touring awning is usually used for one to two weeks at a time, but an all season awning could be up for a month or two at a time. The fabric on this awning means that it is protected from the elements even when left out for these longer periods. The structure of the awning means it holds its shape and performs perfectly even for longer periods and the extra pegging points, ground anchorage means that it is held tight in the ground even when up for longer. These features all combine to allow this awning to be classed as all season. All season awnings can be used for even longer periods that a few months, but this can affect the longevity / lifespan of them. All users should always bear in mind that when you do pitch an awning for any extended period and leave it unattended that accidents can happen. If your awnings ground anchorage (pegging) is affected by wind or rain this can affect the performance of the awning, so it is also best to have the awning checked at regular intervals.
Panoramic Views / Tinted Windows / Pano-Doors
This awning has panoramic views thanks to the maximised use of windows and our tinted windows and pano-doors. Firstly we put oversized windows in the awning to give you the very best views and allow the maximum of light into the awning. Next the windows are tinted. The tint is a premium one-way tint so when viewed from the outside you can see the tint, but when inside the awning they look like normal windows and do not obscure the view at all. The tint on the outside helps stop the sun's glare and helps keep the inside of the awning cooler on those hot days. We also have our unique pano-doors. These are our panoramic view doors. Whilst doors are extremely useful a normal door blocks your view when closed, but our don;t. We place full size windows on our pano-doors so you not only get a door you can close when the weather isn't the best, but you also have the window to let even more light in and allows you to enjoy the view. All our windows have internal blinds, so they can be closed when you want that extra privacy. All these features build up to the very best panoramic views possible, so no matter where you are pitched you get all round views and the very maximum of light into your awning.
Zipped Blinds
Our windows have internal zipped blinds to give you that extra privacy when required. The fact they are zipped blinds means they are easier to use (what can be simpler than running a zip up and down), but also neater as when closed they form a flat tight wall, rather than drooping blinds or curtains. On top of all this as they are zipped blinds they can be set at any height, so you can allow as much or as little light in and as much or as little privacy as you want, if you want half window, half blind then just unzip them half way, if you want just a small light opening at the top of the window, then just zip them down a little it is completely up to you.
